Pleasanton Announces Business Grant Program
(Pleasanton, TX – December 6, 2021) The City of Pleasanton is launching a new small business grant program, called the “Pleasanton Business Venture Program.” The Pleasanton Economic Development Corporation, lead by Board President and City Councilwoman Jeanne Israel, recommend the move to the Pleasanton City Council last week in a unanimous decision.
This program will provide Pleasanton businesses access to a competitive grant of up to $10,000. Funds are intended to provide working capital to support business growth and development. To jumpstart Business Venture Program, the Pleasanton City Council has approved a total of $50,000 for the first six-month phase. The city is using part of its allocated American Rescue Plan funds to support this new grant program.
“I applaud the Pleasanton Economic Development Corporation Board President Jeanne Israel and my colleagues on the City Council for supporting this important funding opportunity for small businesses,” says Pleasanton Mayor Clinton Powell. “These grants will serve as an important funding tool to help strengthen businesses with a working plan that will impact economic development in our city and the region,” adds Mayor Powell.
The city’s economic development consulting firm, EMC Strategy Group, LLC, will provide technical assistance for qualifying businesses throughout the competitive grant application process. The official launch date for the Pleasanton Business Venture Program is November 1, 2021. The application deadline is December 20, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. Applications and requirement information will be available on the city’s website (www.pleasantontx.gov).
