Codes and Ordinances
The City Council of the City of Pleasanton, on May 5, 2016, adopted the 2015 Editions of the International Code Council (ICC) building codes, regulating and governing the maintenance of all property, buildings and structures, these codes went into effect on August 5, 2016.
As of August 5, 2016 the City of Pleasanton has the following International Code Council (ICC) in effect:

- 2015 International Residential Code
- 2015 International Fuel and Gas Code
- 2015 International Fire Code
- 2015 International Plumbing Code
- 2015 International Mechanical Code
- 2015 International Property Maintenance Code
- 2015 International Existing Building Code
- 2015 International Energy Conservation Code
- 2015 International Zoning Code (specific to Chapter 8 only)
- 2015 International Swimming and Spa Code
- 2015 International Private Sewage Disposal Code
- 2014 Edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
