Accident reports are available for purchase at the police department. The cost is $6 per report. Reports may be purchased Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 12:00PM and from 1:00PM to 5:00PM. How do I get warrant or criminal history information?
Warrant and criminal history information is not released by the Pleasanton Police Department. Requests for public criminal history information or for review of you personal criminal history can be made through the Texas Department of Public Safety.
I locked my keys in my car. Can an officer help me open my vehicle?
Pleasanton Police Department does not offer lockout services. We will be happy to contact a wrecker service to assist you but charges will apply.
I need to be fingerprinted.
Pleasanton Police Department does not provide fingerprint services. Fingerprint services are available locally and can be scheduled online at www.identogo.com.

How do I retrieve my property from the Pleasanton Police Department?
Our Property Sergeant is in charge of all property released. Please call the police department at 830-569-3869 to check the disposition of your property and to arrange a time to pick up your items as the Sergeant's schedule varies.
How many pets may I keep?
§ 92.04 KEEPING OF DOGS AND CATS.
(A) It shall be a violation of this chapter for any residence to possess, own or otherwise keep more than three dogs and/or three cats in any residential section or area of the City of Pleasanton, except in cases of newly-born litters under the age of three months old.
Do I need to register my pet with the City?
§ 92.12 LICENSE FEE.
There is hereby fixed and assessed as a police regulation for the protection of the public health, a license fee of $2 per annum against the owner or keeper of each and every dog and cat kept in the city. The license shall run from January 1 of each year to December 31 of the license year.
Registration tags can be purchased from the Pleasanton Police Department at 704 W. Oaklawn. The cost is $2. Residents must provide proof of rabies vaccination to register their pet.
How long does animal control hold an impounded animal before it is available for adoption?
Any dog or cat not reclaimed by its owner within 120 hours for a licensed animal or 72 hours for an unlicensed animal shall become property of the City of Pleasanton.
Where can I see animals available for adoption?
Animals available for adoption are posted on the Pleasanton Police Department Facebook page. If you are interested in adopting an animal, contact us at 830-569-3869 and we will arrange for you to see the animal at the Pleasanton Police Department.
How do I adopt an animal from the animal shelter?

Adoption Fee - $25.00
Registration - $2.00
Rabies Vaccination (determined by the veterinary clinic)
Adoption and registration fees are paid at the Pleasanton Police Department at 704 W. Oaklawn once an animal has been selected for adoption. An animal control officer will then meet you at a local veterinarian's office to have the rabies vaccination given if needed. Registration fees are only applicable to residents within the city limits.
My pet has been picked up by animal control. How much does it cost to reclaim?

The pick up for dogs within one calendar year is as follows:
Third time or more
Any dog without a rabies tag
Owner is required to pay the fine if they would like their dog back or not. (Fine not to exceed $500)
