A native West Texan, I grew up in Andrews, a city similar in size and character to Pleasanton. My father is a retired high school basketball coach and my mother a retired kindergarten teacher. After high school, I attended Angelo State for two years working on a degree in Biology. Realizing that wasn't' the career path for me, I tested the water in turf management while working at Spanish Oaks Golf Club in Austin and transferred to Texas Tech University the next semester majoring in Horticulture. It was at Tech where I met my amazing wife Marsha, who has a true passion for her job as a counselor at Pleasanton High School. Following college, I worked the next 10 years at Lubbock Country Club as both the assistant superintendent and later as the head superintendent.

In 2015, it was a strong desire for civil service and community involvement that led me to Pleasanton. From day one ,this community has made me and my family feel as if we have been here our whole lives. I'm excited to be a part of this Parks and Recreation Department and the activities/programs/events we'll be rolling out in the coming months!

As a 2009 High School graduate of Pleasanton, I am excited to be able to work in my hometown serving in my hometown of Pleasanton! After graduating from High School, I attended and graduated from Southwestern A.G. University in Waxahachie, TX south of Dallas where I spent 4 1/2 years. After completing my time there, I had a desire to return home and begin serving and working in my home town. It was then that an opportunity to work for the City presented itself. I quickly jumped at the chance to work for a municipality in a civil community service. After 3 years, I cannot think of a better place and department to work for as being active and creating a sense of community is a strong passion of mine.

I am currently working on a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from my alma mater, and will complete this degree in December 2018. There is no sport I do not love to watch, be part of, as well as being in the outdoors riding my motorcycle. There are many community events, outreaches, and recreational sports we desire to have for our city in the future and am excited to be part of brining these to Pleasanton!
